The Very Good Plumbing Company is a licensed Arizona plumbing contractor with locations in Scottsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee, South Scottsdale, Mesa and Queen Creek. We do water heaters, drains and sewer, slab leaks, repipes and gas lines. We publish what every job typically costs, quote firmly in writing before we start, and keep a location near you on purpose. One licensed company behind all six, and the same written-price rule at every one.
Why the prices are on the website
Almost nobody in this trade publishes numbers, and the reason isn’t complicated: information asymmetry is profitable. A homeowner standing in an inch of water, who has never bought a water heater and has no idea what one costs, will accept almost any number from the only person who showed up. That’s the business model on a lot of trucks.
We think it’s a bad long-term trade. Publishing ranges means we lose the jobs where somebody just wanted the cheapest possible number, and we win the ones where somebody wanted to understand what they were buying. Over thirty-six months that’s a better business, and it’s a considerably better way to spend your days.
Why six locations
The East Valley is eighty miles across. A company that runs everything out of one yard is guessing at arrival times for most of it, and an arrival window you can’t keep is worse than none. We keep a location in each part of the valley we serve, each with its own phone line, so the truck that comes is the one already nearby.
The houses are different too, and the difference is mostly dates. Per the US Census, 82% of the homes within three miles of our Ahwatukee location were built before 2000; around our Queen Creek location it’s 12%. Those two streets fail in completely different ways, and knowing which one we’re driving to tells a plumber most of what they need before they open anything.
What we’ll tell you not to do
There are several pages on this site that talk customers out of work. The heat pump page says the federal tax credit ended for anything placed in service after 2025. Several answers say that in a two-year-old house your first call is the builder’s warranty, not us. Hard water here is an appliance problem, not a health one, and we’re not going to sell it to you as one.
None of that’s modesty. A plumbing company that only ever says yes is one you can’t use as a source of information, and being the company East Valley homeowners actually believe is worth more than one extra sale.
