Leak, clog, or no hot water? You’ll know the price before we start.
One plumbing company that has a license and seven East Valley locations, answered at any hour. Tell us what’s wrong, and you get the typical price on the phone, a real arrival window, and a plumber who’s already close by.
The Very Good Plumbing Company has an Arizona contractor's license, a bond and insurance, and seven East Valley locations: Scottsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee, South Scottsdale, Mesa, Queen Creek and North Mesa. We publish what every job typically costs before you call, give you a firm written price before any work starts, and if we miss the arrival window without calling first, the service call is free. One license behind all seven, with the same written-price rule everywhere.
The diagnostic fee comes off the repair. We charge a service call to come out and diagnose the problem. If you approve the work, that fee is credited against it in full. You hear the fee on the phone before anyone drives, and it’s the same number at every location.
The problem with hiring a plumber in the East Valley
There are hundreds of plumbing companies working the Phoenix metro and almost no way to tell them apart from a search results page. The listings look identical, the badges are self-issued, and half the sites that look like plumbers are lead marketplaces that sell your phone number to four companies at once, which is why calling one plumber online means five call you back inside ten minutes.
You end up hiring whoever dialed fastest. That’s not a selection process, and it’s not what happens here. You call us, you get us.
What we do differently, concretely
We publish prices. Every service page on this site carries what that job typically runs in the East Valley and what pushes it to the top of the range. A homeowner who has no idea whether a water heater is six hundred dollars or six thousand can’t tell a fair quote from a bad one, and that gap is exactly where people get taken. Publishing the ranges costs us the easy jobs and earns us the informed ones.
We price the job, not the hour. You get a firm number in writing after we have seen it, before anything starts. It doesn’t move because the job took longer than we thought.
Late is free. You get an arrival window. If we miss it without calling you first, the service call is free — written on the guarantee page, not implied.
Why seven locations instead of one big yard
Because the East Valley is eighty miles across and a company that dispatches everything from one lot is guessing at arrival times for most of it. We keep a location in Scottsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee, South Scottsdale, Mesa, Queen Creek and North Mesa, each with its own line, so the window we give you is one we can keep. The houses differ too: Ahwatukee is 82% pre-2000 housing and Queen Creek is 12% (US Census), and those two streets need different parts on the truck. Each location page says what its part of the valley is made of.
Pick the thing that is wrong.
Burst pipe, sewage backing up, water heater flooding the garage. Shut the water off first, then call.
Drain cleaning→A sink, tub, or main line that has stopped taking water.
Water heater installation→Replacing a tank that's finished, and doing the code items while it's open.
Slab leak detection & repair→A pressurized water line failing under the concrete the house sits on.
Hydro jetting→High-pressure water that scours the pipe wall instead of punching through.
Sewer line repair→The lateral between your house and the city connection has failed.
Water heater repair & replacement→No hot water, rusty water, or a puddle under the tank.
Leak detection→Water is going somewhere and nobody can see where.
Burst pipe repair→A line has opened up and water is actively going where it shouldn't.
Seven locations, each one close enough to actually be close.
A plumber forty minutes away isn’t an emergency plumber. We keep a location inside each part of the East Valley we serve, so the truck that comes is the one that’s already nearby, and the number you call is the one that rings there.
Four steps. No sales visit.
Tell us what's wrong
Two minutes, in your own words. "Water heater leaking from the bottom, garage unit, house built 2004" is a complete brief. No account, no sales chat, no callback to qualify you.
We tell you the range before we drive
You get the typical East Valley range for that job on the phone, and our arrival window. Nobody can quote a plumbing repair sight-unseen honestly, and we aren’t going to pretend otherwise, but you should never be surprised by the order of magnitude.
We look, then we price it in writing
A plumber comes out, diagnoses it properly, and gives you a firm written number before anything starts. If we open it up and find something else, we stop and re-quote rather than adding it to the bill.
You decide, and the number holds
Approve it or don't: there’s no pressure close and no expiring discount, because a real plumbing price survives a night's sleep. What we quoted is what you pay, and the workmanship warranty comes in writing with it.
Ranges, published, before you call anybody.
Every service page here carries what the job typically runs in the East Valley and what pushes it to the top of the range. A homeowner who has no idea whether a water heater is six hundred dollars or six thousand can’t tell a fair quote from a bad one, and that gap is where people get taken.
Typical East Valley ranges published for planning and dated on each page. They aren’t quotes. Your firm price comes in writing after one of our plumbers has seen the job. Expect your number to land outside a range when the house is unusual, and expect us to say why.
Three promises, and what happens when we break one.
Late is free.
You get an arrival window. If we miss it without calling you before it closes, the service call is free. Not a credit toward the work: free.
The price is the price.
A firm written number before anything starts, after we have actually seen the job. It doesn’t move because the work took longer than we expected. If we find something genuinely different behind the wall, we stop and re-quote instead of adding it to the invoice.
The warranty is in writing.
Every quote comes with our workmanship warranty on paper. A contractor who won’t put a warranty in writing has told you what it’s worth, and we would rather hand you ours before you ask.
Answers, not a brochure.
Are you actually licensed?
Yes — we have an Arizona contractor's license, a bond and insurance. Our plumbing answers cover how to vet any Arizona contractor in thirty seconds.
Can you quote my job over the phone?
No, and neither can anyone else honestly. Plumbing pricing depends on access, pipe material, what’s behind the wall, and what the previous person did. What we will give you on the phone is the typical East Valley range for that job and an arrival window, so you’re never surprised by the order of magnitude. The firm number comes in writing once we have seen it.
Why do you publish your prices when nobody else does?
Because a homeowner who can’t tell six hundred dollars from six thousand can’t tell a fair quote from a bad one, and that gap is where people get taken. Publishing ranges loses us the customers who were only ever going to shop the lowest number, and wins us the ones who wanted to understand what they were buying. We’re fine with that trade.
Does it matter when my house was built?
More than anything else. Build era predicts pipe material, sewer lateral material, and which component is at the end of its life right now. A 1985 house in Ahwatukee and a 2021 house in Queen Creek need different conversations and different parts on the truck. That’s why every location page on this site leads with the share of nearby homes built before 2000.
Do I need a permit, and who pulls it?
We pull it where the work requires one. That’s what the license is for. Permit rules are set city by city in the East Valley: a like-for-like tank water heater swap is exempt in some cities when a licensed contractor does it, tankless always needs one, and repipes, sewer replacement and gas work need one everywhere. We know which rule applies to your address, and the fee is on the written quote, not a surprise on the invoice.
What does it cost to have someone come look?
We charge a service call to come out and diagnose the problem, and we credit it toward the repair if you approve the work. You’re told the fee before we drive over. If we arrive outside the window we gave you without calling first, that fee is on us.
Where do you work?
Seven East Valley locations: Scottsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee, South Scottsdale, Mesa, Queen Creek and North Mesa. Each has its own page with the ZIPs it covers and its own phone line. One company with one license, the same rules at every one. The locations are about speed, not eligibility — wherever you are around the Valley, you get the same company and the nearest truck.
Real jobs, real Arizona houses.
Not stock, not a rendering, and nothing generated. Every photograph on this site is an actual plumbing job in an actual house.

Hours
Burst pipes, active leaks and sewage backups get answered at any hour. Nights, weekends and holidays carry an after-hours rate, and we tell you what it’s before anyone drives out, not after.
